I bought this massage chair without seeing it in store or owning a massage chair before. I looked online but couldn’t find any honest or in depth reviews, so here I am making one that will hopefully make your decision. Price wise, massage chairs are a luxury item. I know for sure money can be put to better use but in terms of relative value this chair is pretty good.I got the cream version and it looks great. I would suggest getting a white glove service to set it up. The chair is bigger than I expected and needs a lot of room, especially for the zero-g function to work. FYI zero-g refers to when this chair reclines and changes angle, which is great because it makes the back massage more powerful.

MATERIALS: The chair is leather with a metal base. The material is great but I haven’t tried cleaning it yet. The chair is shipped in pieces and is solidly built, although I can’t say I feel fully confident it won’t fall apart when I, say, try to get out of it while it’s reclined. If you use it for what it’s meant for, then it should be fine.

SHAPE: I’m a young guy (24, 5’9 and athletic) and I fit fine in the chair. The only thing I noticed is that the fitting isn’t really designed well; your arms will feel weird because there is a clamp for your shoulders and you feel like you’re stuffing your hands awkwardly into the arm clamps. It’s hard to describe, but I think they could’ve designed it better. For someone who is taller or shorter, the zero-g function will automatically adjust to your height so that is no problem (I tested this with other young adults, but not with kids. My guess is that it should be fine for anyone from 5′ to 6’3). If you are overweight, there is a bit of space but it might be tougher.

AIRBAGS: The chair touts its usage of tons of airbags. There are airbags for your calves, feet, hips, back, neck, arms, and shoulders. The biggest con of this chair is that the airbags for the calves are VERY painful! I have pretty big calves but even letting my skinny leg friends use the chair they feel the same. It will squeeze your calves to the point where you feel like it’s about to explode, and I have the bruises to prove it (yes, they are actual bruises). Other than that, the hips, feet, arms, and butt (?) airbags feel great. The neck and back airbags don’t really do much, in fact they are pretty unnecessary but it’s nice to see they tried to implement some.

ROLLERS: The rollers on this chair are pretty standard. I haven’t tried many other massage chairs but comparatively these are rather weak. You can increase the intensity via the controller or using zero-g, but in general the sensation is pretty mild, which is okay because if you’re sitting for extended periods of time something powerful might be bad. There are a multitude of options and some are amazing (such as clapping). The range of the rollers is a bit stiff: you don’t really feel it on your upper back due to the padding and it doesn’t go below your hip, which I wish it would because I’ve had previous rollers go to the gluts and that feels really good. They do scan your back before the preset massages to get a contour, but who knows if that actually does anything.

HEAT: This is actually a pretty useful function, especially in the winter. When I bought this chair I wasn’t really expecting a heat option but now that I’ve felt it I think it should be mandatory for all chairs of this class.

FUNCTION: The massage chair have preset functions which do air + rollers and also localized options. The display is very informative and easy to use, showing you where on your body it is massaging. It allows you to control the power of the air and rollers, as well as the speed of the rollers. It also comes with a mini remote control which I thought was a plus, though I don’t really use it. The arm that holds the control board up is pretty flimsy and will be a bit annoying to set in the proper place. It also makes annoying beeps at certain times. However, the custom massages are pretty intuitive and you can avoid calf massages completely so it can deliver a pretty customized massage experience.

OVERALL: This product is great! In terms of what it has to offer, it probably tops any of the chairs you’ll see in the mall and also does it at half the cost, although IMO these things are already overpriced. There is a warning not to use the chair for more than 30 mins due to overheating. There is an annoying timer which will shut off the chair but you can always add time, and I’ve used it for more than 30 mins no problem. Also the chair is prone to electric surges, so make sure to connect it to a good surge protector (or just unplug it when not in use). The only real cons are the size and the overly powerful calf massagers, but if you think you can fit and if your wallet can afford it, buy this chair!

This is likley the first and only review I will write. I feel compelled to do this because there has been, in my recent memory, no product that I have purchased that has so completely met with (and exceeded) my expectations. We have had our chair for about 4 months now. I purchased in part becasue of the helpful reviews I read. I hope that my experience offers some guidance to other shoppers.

My wife and I spent a great deal of time researching this purchase, and we tried many other massage chair products in various stores near our home, Relax the Back, Brookstone, and Costco among them. We came very close to purchasing at least 2 other models that ranged in price from $3000-4500. In the end – and with a sense that we were busting our budget – we took the plunge and bought our Dreamwave chair. We made the decision based on reviews and the first-hand experience we had when we tried the chair. (My wife and I tried the chair in a local store, and I actually tried it again during a business trip I took to S. California.)

After about 2 months of having the chair, we had a visit planned from our two grand children. I recalled hearing about a a child lockout feature, and I wanted to use this feature during their visit – reasons are obvious I think. The function requires a key…a key that I could not find. Desperate for this key, I called the service number on my chair and talked to – I think – the Inada people directly. I had to leave a message and I figured it would be days before I heard back. No more than 1-2 hours later a serviceman (he referred to himself as a “Chair Doctor,” which I thought was a nice touch and made me chuckle) called me back. In the amount of time it took me to give him my address, my missing key problem was solved – no charge, and I had it within a week in time for the visit. Through this encounter, I learned that these guys really care about customers, and I can’t say that I genrally feel this way when I deal with other companies.

The product itself is amazing. I remember a salesman trying to explain to me and my wife what it would do, how it would make us feel, etc., and we pretty much felt that this was just a pitch. Not so. It is very hard to describe what this product can do, but I now know that none of the other chairs we tried could possibly measure up to it.

In case it’s not 100% clear, we are two very very happy consumers. We spent more than we wanted to spend, felt a little wreckless at the time, but now feel vindicated. Take the plunge. You’ll be glad you did.

I bought this chair 2 months ago. I have had a sore middle back for 45 years and 3 vertebras in the lower back for the last 20 years. This chair went straight for the sore muscles and ran right over the sore vertebras. I thought I was going to be in trouble except it felt really good. I continued to lay there and let it do its job. After a half hour I got up and was so relaxed I could hardly walk. I was waiting to see if it irritated my back but it did just the opposite. The sore muscles in my upper back were not sore and you could push on them without feeling sore. Also my lower back would radiate pain 7 to 8 inches out. GONE! I’ve got to be the happiest guy around. I used it 4 or more times the first day. Next day was about the same. I’m down to 1 to 2 times a day. Lately I have missed a day or 2 because there is no pain. It is not a cure-all but sure helps when you hurt. The muscles in my middle back have stayed without hurting and my lower vertebras get sore less often. I have recommended this chair to many people.

I to have purchased this to replace and old Panasonic EP790 Shiatsu Massage chair.
My old chair had a drive belt wore out and I can’t find that part.
I think its about 18 years old and if definitely got my moneys worth out of it, using it almost every day.
I’m going to try and find a belt and am still going to keep it as the motors and gears are still good, or maybe find someone looking for the motors. The front cushion is almost worn through.

This new chair is whisper quiet, I think the posting about a noisy chair is less than accurate or they got a defective unit. This chair seems to make less noise than my old one.

It has about the same footprint as my old one, maybe a little bigger and fits nicely into small spaces.

My new chair has many more choices for massage type which I like.
It doesn’t seem to work the neck as good as my older unit.
I haven’t played with the settings on manual yet and can probably get more intensity on upper areas, also the upper massage may improve as the padding gets broke in.
I like that the new chair provides lateral massage movement, where the old chair just ran up and down.
The massage range has been increased and reaches lower on my back, very nice.
The massage heads seem more like real hands.
The motorized recline and leg lift feature is nice as well.

The big difference is the leg massage.
It applies pressure squeezing the legs and then stretching them by pulling on them.
I’m thinking that its going to help with leg blood circulation.
It takes a bit getting use to this new feature.
My friend loved the leg massage and thought it was the best part.

The delivery was curb side and on time.
The back legs have rollers just tip it back and roll.
Its not easy lifting from the front to roll, it takes 2 people.
It was crated well and now I have a lot of cardboard to recycle.

Now all I have to do is pay for this, LOL.
I used my Amazon Store Card and got 1 year same as cash + free shipping.
That helped and with out that I mostly likely would not have made this purchase.
A great deal.

Human Touch iJoy-2580 Robotic Premium Massage Chair

Human Touch iJoy-2580 Robotic Premium Massage Chair
Human Touch iJoy-2580 Robotic Premium Massage Chair

Another exceptionally comfortable massage chair is iJoy-2580. It’s a great option if you are looking for a more affordable massage chair. It utilizes the patented by Human Touch massage technology that provides ease of tension, pain, fatigue, stress relief, and improves relaxation and circulation. The massage it provides replicates the movements and techniques used by back and spinal care professionals.

For your certain needs you can choose one of the 3 offered massage programs: refresh your back (15 minutes of massage for the entire back), relieve your neck and shoulders (15 minutes to relieve upper back tensions), and release your lower back (15 minutes to soothe lower back soreness).

The robotic massage provided by the iJoy-2580 rollers feels a lot like human hands massage. It uses methods such as rolling (perfect for relaxing the lower back), kneading (lifts and stretches muscles in a circular motion on the sides of the spine to improve blood and lymph circulation), compression (with rocking motion applies pressure to deep muscle tissue), and percussion (rapid-tapping strokes for relieving pressure on the spinal column and releasing cramping from muscles).

The chair accommodates body weight up to 285 pounds. The chair in an upright position is 44-inches long x 35-inches wide x 40-inches high. The distance to the wall is 11.5-inches. The seat width is 18-inches and the recline angle is 113 to 165 degrees. The range control is 24-inches, and the automatic timer shut off is 15 minutes. The reclining position uses a powered motor. The chair weighs 88 pounds. The massage robot is 2-motor with quad rollers. The shipping box is 55 x 35 x 21-inches.

I got this chair for my wife last Christmas, and she absolutely loves it. She loves it so much that she’s actually become convinced that she married wisely, when in fact she could do a lot better than me. If she were ever to make that critical realization, I would surely be finished. Amazingly, fifteen minutes a day of rolling, compression, kneading, and percussion seems to be all it takes to keep her from figuring this out. Sometimes she goes a few days without a massage, and begins giving me troubled glances as if wondering why there’s a misshapen ogre wandering through her house (and wearing a wedding ring, at that), but then she sits in the chair and all is right with the world again. The iJoy 2580 keeps the horrible truth far, far away, where it belongs.

I love the chair too. It has a strength to it that you’ll simply never get from a cheaper product, like those massaging pads that you hang over the back of a regular chair. Sure, the pad is more portable — my attempt to install the iJoy 2580 in my Honda Civic resulted in a hernia and some bewildered head-shaking from the guys at the auto body shop — but you won’t get nearly as good a massage. Also, while shopping around, I tried a few chairs that cost upwards of four times as much as this one, and I honestly wasn’t all that impressed. The really expensive chairs do have some advantages, of course. They’re designed to look more like regular recliners, typically have longer warranties, and sometimes have extra features like built-in massagers for the calves and feet. But to me, they didn’t offer any improvement over the 2580 in terms of the quality of the back massage. The iJoy series is an excellent balance between cost and function.

A few caveats: if you’re over six feet tall, as we misshapen ogres tend to be, the massaging heads may not reach as high on your back as you’d like unless you adopt atrocious posture, and deliberately injuring your back in the pursuit of relief for back pain seems a bit counterproductive. The massage feels a little less effective higher on the back too, perhaps because the farther the heads get from your seat, the easier it is for them to shift your whole torso from side to side, which of course won’t feel as good as the same action operating on you when you’re motionless. It still feels good, though, and on the lower back, it’s wonderful. Sitting in the chair a day or two after doing heavy deadlifts (or anything else that will produce muscular soreness low in your back) is glorious. It’s proven durable so far, too. We’ve had it for six months and it’s held up to regular use without even a hint of a problem. Buy one, and save your marriage!

Electric Full Body Shiatsu Massage Chair 06C

Electric Full Body Shiatsu Massage Chair 06C
Electric Full Body Shiatsu Massage Chair 06C

If you are looking for a reasonably priced best massaging chair, then BestMassage 06C is worth considering. This modern massage chair offers a great number of features comparable to other pricier models. It is well made with a sleek look. It also provides ultimate shiatsu experience with the use of compression, percussion and power rollers, kneading, tapping and flapping. It’s a whole body massager, so even your feet get relaxed and soothed with the addition of the heated stretched footrest.

There are 30 airbags built in the Shiatsu 06C, with 20 of them distributed for the lower body parts. The massage of the chair can help with neck stress relief. It also targets buttocks, thighs and calves with vibration motor for relaxing muscle stress. Choosing different programs you can reduce fatigue, stimulate stressed nerves, soften thick layers, improve flexibility and rejuvenate the body and mind.

The shiatsu method uses power rollers for muscle stress relaxation, reducing fatigue to wake up your body and mind. The compression and percussion mode will improve your mobility and flexibility including your leg posture and balance. The chop action of tapping and flapping removes soreness and aches, stimulating nerves and stressed out tired muscles. It has heat for the soles of your feet and at the waist. One button operates the control, therefore, the heat is on at both places or off at both places. The chair massages the buttocks and upper thighs with air bags providing pressure from the sides. The shiatsu and vibrating stops at the lower back. For massaging the arms, there are airbags for this function that squeeze and release with the bladders. It is not the same as shiatsu, but feels good. It will soften thick layers of fat and cellulite.

The chair plugs into a USA standard 3-prong grounded 110/120-Volt outlet and is UL listed. It weighs 300 pounds. It is 75-inches (6.25 feet) long from headrest to the extended footrest. The box size is 46 x 33 x 30-inches. You might want to install it in the room where you plan to use it.

Why 1 star, because the chair broke in less than 1 year and the seller/manufacturer refuses to honor the warranty.

I purchased a massage chair model # BM-EC06C on Sep. 26th, 2013. This massage chair was great, but ceased working on Aug. 28th, 2014 within the 1 year warranty. After I contacted the seller/manufacturer they were to send out a replacement part but never did (it has been more than one year with no replacement part). More than 3 months later they wrote that I must ship the chair back to them at my own expense (estimates to ship >$300) before they would offer anything under the warranty. After failing to send out the replacement part, I worried they would also fail to send out a replacement chair once I paid more than $300 to ship back the broken one.

The pictures show the massage chair with the back cover removed and hi-lights the broken parts. For more info visit site (take out spaces): factory direct wholesales 2 dot com

iRobotics 7 Medical Massage Chair

iRobotics 7 Medical Massage Chair
iRobotics 7 Medical Massage Chair

The seventh-generation iRobotics chair by US-based manufacturer Luraco combines patented massage technology with contemporary medical breakthroughs and entertainment features to create what Luraco calls the “World’s #1 Medical Massage Chair®”. The product also flaunts 100 air cells, body scan technology, and an S-track similar to the aforementioned Dreamwave.

While the iRobotics 7 has fewer pre-programmed massages, with a total of nine sets, it does provide a heat function for the feet as well as the back and neck. Moreover, this medical wonder boasts two other features that separate it from the Dreamwave and any other similar products on the market: a real 3D mechanism and zero-gravity recline.

Developed in conjunction with NASA, this feature allows for the maintenance of a “weightless” neutral body posture and elevates the user’s sense of relaxation and well-being. This chair also features a voice response in multiple languages and a touch-screen remote. The 3D rollers are designed to stimulate the entire body from head to toe.

An impressive seat swing function is the ultimate sleep-enhancing attribute.
Despite these extra features, the iRobotics 7 can be had for a slightly lower rate than the Dreamwave while guaranteeing similarly deluxe quality and a few prominent perks.

My wife and I spent a lot of time researching before committing to this purchase. We tried other massage chairs at Brookstone, Costco and the local electronic store. What we were looking for in a massaging chair are reliability, functionality, comfort and customer support.
There were other chairs that we liked also, but we made the conclusion of buying this chair and after 3 months, I’m happy we made the choice. We purchased the black one, which looks nice next to our black leather couch. One of the reason we chose this chair was because of where it was manufactured. I researched and found that the company is based in the US, and the chair is manufactured in the US, which is not true for many other chairs. They have excellent customer service; every time I called, they have been very helpful and attentive.
With regards to the chair, it is easy to customize your massage, from fully automatic to manual control of every function imaginable. You can adjust the intensity of your massage to spot treatment. It is truly a full body massage, from your feet, legs, butt, back, arms and neck. The back massage has 3 functions: kneading, rolling and tapping. The butt massage is also a nice touch. Zero gravity is a nice feature, with a push of a button the entire chair reclines back.
This chair can accommodate many different body sizes. I have a friend who is 6f9 and he can fit easily on this chair. I’m 5f5 and this chair also fits me well. The control is easy. My mom is in her 70s and with 1 push of a button she can enjoy a fully automatic massage without having to play around with the control. In fact, my parents loved this chair so much that they decided to purchase their own.
Assembly was easy, although having a second person to help will make it easier. So far I’m very happy with this purchase and believe it’s well worth the money. I can enjoy a relaxing massage daily in the comfort of my home. Compare Price on Amazon

So up front I gave it 5 stars but as shipped I would only give it a 4.5. I had to to a small adjustment to make it better for me.

I did a lot of research on Zero gravity chairs mainly because I didn’t want to spend a fortune but at the same time I was going to if it meant I got everything I wanted. So with this chair I was taking a risk because the cheaper price made me fear that quality. I am glad I did so far (mind you I only had this a few days so I cannot speak on longevity).

So with all the research I did I will list my pro’s and cons. I will also try to answer any questions I can over the next few days as I check this.

Pro’s
Price. You will NOT find a chair that has every new total package option.

Options. This chair has rollers on the feet and calf. Shoulder airbags (not standard), arms, legs. It also has heat, vibrating but pad, and a twist and stretch options. THE MAIN option is that is has the new-age L-track. So just like the one in brook stone for 3000 $more, this one will massage all the way to your butt. Not just to the bottom of your back, to your butt! It also has this cool Yoga setting that will do a 30 minute massage that mixes massage with a stretch. The stretch is very noticeable, like you are bending your back over one of those gym balls.

Real Zero gravity. I bring this up because you see on the picture that shes basically just recling back. I am not sure why Kahuna decided that was a good picture because the chair actually has two more zero gravity levels after that one. The final setting leans you fair back with your feet about 4-6 inches above your heart. Its legit zero gravity position.

So the actual massage is above average, but not amazing. I want to be honest here because it’s a 1500 dollar chair. I would say 90% of the massage feels amazing. Sometimes the rollers just hit me wrong and it doesn’t hurt per say but I wouldn’t want it to stay there for long. I am still messing with the settings thou. I normally only feel this during the deep massage option. I believe this is only because the fabric near the rollers is a tad on the thin side. If they just added a tiny bit more padding it would make this massage perfect. The other massage options I have no issue, just sometimes the deep tissue.

Structure is a pro and con. The base of this chair is a mix of plastic and steel. The plastic portion looks a little cheap but its sturdy. The steel portions will clearly support the wieght (I am 220 pounds, 6’4′ and have no issues). The leg/feet holder does adjust about 5 inches so its comfortable. I would say thou anything after 6’4” is pushing it. Everything once I got it all in place fit well and snug. I see this chair lasting awhile if it’s taken care of and not treated as a toy.

Ok my CONS:

Installation. While it should of been easy because there are really only a few minor steps, the screw holes did not line up. This is because at whatever factory it was made you can tell that the machine used to cut it was out of whack or something. This was only for the side walls. The shoulder pieces went in like a glove and only took me 5 minutes to install both. The arms on the other hand had two issues that can be fixed really easy. There are two steel rods you have to slide them on and on one of the arms the holes weren’t big enough. It was cut wrong and could tell me the jagged line. I had to shave a very tiny portion of the plastic down to get it to slip on. Im talking like 1mm..nothing more. The other part was the 4 screw holes. They are suppose to be lined up like two full moons, but instead I got the whole half moon thing and couldn’t fit the screw in. So I had to shave that down as well. Soon as I did it fit perfect and was very sturdy. This shouldnt happen and if you aren’t good with basic tools I would beware or have a friend help you set it up.

Second CON and almost a deal breaker for me was the feet rollers. THEY HURT ALOT. Even with socks on they hurt. Its not because they are different from any other rollers on the market…they do the samething. They hurt because the fabric between your feet and the rollers is just super thin. This also was an easy fix because I just took some padded fabric and some velcro (type with an adhesive side and a velcro side) and placed it where my feet go. So now it is much softer and gives a great massage instead of feeling like rocks going into my feet.

So with that said, A small 4 dollar peice of velcro and padded fabric, and a basic file and small drill bit is all I needed to make this chair beyond perfect for the price. Its comfortable now and has more options then it should have at $1500. The chair feels great and if you are starting to get minor aches and pains from work…this will make you feel good:) I’m a police officer so wearing a vest all the time starts to wear on ya. This chair is already helping a ton.

I would buy it again and recommend it to all my friends.

Hope this helps.

My husband bought me this massage chair as a christmas gift! Its an amazing chair, however, after just one week we started having a problem with it. After your 15 min increment is over and the chair automatically shuts off, the chair continues to vibrate. The only way we could get it to stop was by unplugging the massage chair. We’ve called the company and they say they’ve never heard of this problem before, to email their customer support (which we did) and have heard nothing back in weeks!!! My husband continues to call them and leave messages for them to call us back so that we can get this very expensive massage chair fixed and they will not return his phone calls. How do you spend $2,000. on a massage chair and it doesn’t work properly after one week and then customer service doesn’t want to help?!?! Very Frustrated!!
